Board of Directors Openings

The Ohio Climbers Coalition is currently looking to fill a few volunteer Board of Directors positions. Please see below for current openings and information about how to apply. All positions will be open until filled.

Central Ohio Stewardship Director: 

The OCC is currently seeking a new Central Ohio Stewardship Director to join our volunteer Board of Directors. The Central Ohio Stewardship Director will be responsible for communicating with land managers to plan Adopt-a-Crag stewardship events in their area, and help the OCC locate potential new areas to expand access to in the future. Ideally this person will be familiar with the crags in this portion of the state, and be willing to assist the local crag stewards with project ideas they may have for these areas. Prior experience with sustainable trail development and local crag ethics is a plus, but not required. As such, we need a climber based within this area with requisite available time to commit. A knowledge of the status of climbing in current areas is a plus.

This person will:

  • Manage OCC efforts in their portion of the state regarding access, stewardship and potential climbing areas.

  • Assist OCC board in developing and maintaining a support team of Regional Coordinators, Crag Stewards and special events personnel in their portion of the state.

  • Serve as the primary contact between the OCC and landowners in their region as directed by the OCC board.

  • Take direction from the OCC board, adhering to OCC’s official policies/stances on all issues they are involved with (ex: access, overuse, stewardship, bolting, focus of regional efforts.)

  • Initiate stewardship events in central Ohio and attend most of them.

  • Generate updates and summary reports for the OCC board. They may request/be requested to present issues to the OCC board.
