The Ohio Climbers Coalition will be hosting a workday at Sawyer Quarry from 9am-12pm. This is an outdoor, socially-distanced volunteer experience. Help promote climbing for the future.
We will meet in the field in front of the parking lot and/or near the trailhead around 10AM.
Projects: We will be clearing debris from the climbing area at the Quarry. Continued cleaning of the south cliff face. Improved access (especially at the bottom) to North face. We will also be moving a lot of rock to smooth out some bouldering landing zones as well. Bolstering of bases and trails by utilizing the center pile of rocks and gravel in the quarry. There will be uneven terrain.
Parking: There is a parking lot with ample parking across from the trailhead. Bathrooms are available.
Bring snacks, gloves and water. Pizza and tools will be provided. Feel free to bring you own tools if you prefer. Please wear closed-toe shoes. May stay and climb on your own after the event.
Tools we have: shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, loppers.
*If you are not currently a member of the OCC and would like to join during the Adopt-a-Crag, you can join the Access Fund and OCC during the event for the Event Price at $35 (save $15.00).
