The Ohio Climbers Coalition will be hosting our first Adopt-a-Crag event of the year at the Mad River Gorge on Saturday, April 19th! The plan is to start construction of a belay platform and stairs at a new area near the old go kart property that the Clark County Park District acquired last year.
The OCC will have tools and some personal protective equipment to use (work gloves, eye and ear protection), but all volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and clothes that you are comfortable working in as we will be hauling tools and supplies down into the gorge and working with hand/ power tools during the construction process.
Volunteers should park and meet at the old go kart property (this is the area directly across from C&S Tree Service on the same side of the road as the main Mad River Gorge park entrance) at 10am. Here is a link to the location on Google Maps for reference: https://maps.app.goo.gl/sQBwFLETSTohHBTE6 .
If the event has to be cancelled due to weather, we will post information on our social media pages (so please make sure to let us know if you are planning on attending).
