LOGTOWN HIKE
Just an FYI if you’re planning on going to Logtown on Sunday, July 7th. The Columbiana County Park District is holding a hike and there could be a group of hikers going through the area. Please join the hike if it interests you.
The hike will be Sunday, July 7, at 10:00 AM. Meet at the parking lot off of Logtown Road where folks usually park to climb in the quarry. The hike is open to anyone so please encourage anyone you think might be interested to join us.
Here is the description of the hike:
July 7 Hike to Old Stone Quarry 10am
Meet at the Lisbon parking lot off Logtown Road. Nineteenth century industrial efforts along the Middle Fork of Little Beaver Creek will be highlighted as we travel to the Old Stone Quarry just west of Lisbon and the Rebecca Furnace at the junction of Furnace and Logtown Roads. Learn how the local rock resources and the stream valley itself made these endeavors possible. Mildly strenuous.
Join the Columbiana County Park District this Sunday (July 7) as geologist Cheryl Mattevi leads us on a hike to Lisbon's old stone quarry and then the Rebecca Furnace.
The hike starts at 10 a.m. and ends at noon.
Participants need to meet at the Lisbon parking lot on Logtown Rd. The old stone quarry is used for rock climbing, and may soon be acquired by the park district.
